Superbowl Weight Loss Tips
Yes, today is Superbowl Sunday in the United States, a day of professional football and …. gluttony.
As fun as this day can be, historically the final football game of the season is often synonymous with food and drink. Would it be that fans munched on veggies and fruit pieces, then this day’s carb intake would be manageable.
But, with wings, chips, dip and beer, the carb and fat count go “to the moon”. Here are our tips to make this day one “not to remember” for us that watch our waistline.
- Tell others your goals. Not only will you then have someone else also expecting you to perform but you’ll gain a cheering section,
- Prepare a snack tray of veggies, fruit and low-fat dip made from store-bought salad dressing,
- Eat as soon after you get up as possible. This gets your metabolism working at a higher rate sooner in the day,
- Get off the couch and take a long walk, coming home 1/2 hour before kickoff (6:17 EDT),
- Finally, think about how much food you would waste by overeating. Your body doesn’t need all the food that’s on display, so why waste it? You can eat the Superbowl party leftovers for lunch the next day and save yourself some money. You could give it to the adult day care center down the block who really needs it. Any reason you find not to waste that food is a good one.
