Cogitamus Consulting is a branding and market research boutique in NYC. Working with our clients, we custom tailor solutions and provide creative, thought-provoking analysis that address the most pertinent questions facing marketers.

We’re looking for a junior writer/research/analyst to assist in the researching and writing of two respected and well-known market research titles in the consumer packaged goods and manufacturing/industrial verticals. Title topics range from health and beauty care products to organic foods to wood flooring products. The position is ideal for someone looking for moderately flexible working environment and/or for someone looking to gain some great experience in market analysis. Would consider an internship as an option as well.

Job includes:
- Providing secondary research assistance and copy covering topics such as corporate profiles, trends affecting markets and consumer, determining market size and growth, new products, and/or the advertising/promotional landscape.
- Becoming familiar enough with data sources such as Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), Simmons Market Research Bureau (SMRB), Productscan Online.

Candidate should have:
- Some experience or interest in market research, consumer research, and/or market trend analysis, preferably related to packaged goods and/or manufacturing.
- Experience in web-based research, especially accessing and interpreting government sources such as Census and Trade data, performing article searches and delving through industry and trade associations and publications.
- Ability to pull data from excel or other downloadable file formats and re-structure the data into easy to read tables and graphs. Please send cover letter, resume, and writing sample.
