A revision of the Long Island Sound Guide is scheduled for early ‘09 with research to be done June & July ‘08. Jerawyn publishing is looking for one or two boaters/writers who will visit and review this marinas., take new photos, update the Marina Reports, and add new content

The market is comprised of cruising boat owners – power boaters, trawler owners, and sailors – whose craft range from 25 ft to megayachts and who frequently overnight in marinas in their adventures away from their homeports.

These guides are very detailed and data intensive, with an extremely tight format. Half of the data is facility-specific and half of it is a “travel guide” to what is nearby. There is one photo of each facility in the book and up to 20 on the accompanying, fully searchable DVD-ROM and on the website. JPI uses a proprietary and unique system to publish its books, DVD-ROM and Website; the data is input into an easy-to-use web-based application..

A comfort level with technology is critical as well as competence with, and ownership of a recent, good quality (6 mp+) digital camera and comparable computer with high speed access. Compensation is a work-for-hire $35 flat payment per updated Marina Report review and $45 for each new (original) Marina Report. Re-visits can be, for the sake of efficiency, made by land. Approximately 6 visits per day are generally possible with an equal amount of time spent before and after to prepare and fully research and write the Reports. The approximate total fee for a revision of the entire volume is $8-9000.
