Capital Region Builder/Developer/Designer is seeking a writer/reporter who can write lively, sophisticated, accurate and clear news/press releases/web pages/web blog and feature articles/ads about new residential construction with a emphasis on green practices and energy efficiently in the Capital Region.

Additional Requirements are minimum of one-year writing/reporting experience, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Photoshop, Internet researching, web publishing and a flexible schedule. Responsibilities include writing informative feature articles about various aspects of residential home building including and financing in Upstate New York that include interviews with vendors, manufactures, elected officials, general public, developers and the like, as well as writing news articles that cover some government meetings during the day one or twice a week and some early evening community board committee meetings a couple of times a week. Such coverage also requires minimal photography skills to take still shots, with supplied digital camera, of models, or renderings and/or builders, or architects or community leaders at meetings.
Applicant may also do write some briefs for e-mail newsletter.
The successful candidate will be a passionate lover of writing, and a great fact-checker who can churn out good, interesting and whenever possible humorous copy on deadlines. The successful candidate will also be a good multi-taker who can work on several assignments at the same time. The website likes consumers and users to value its accuracy, its intelligence, and its historical perspectives and, whenever possible, its wit and its desire to scoop the competition.
