Peace Corps An Attractive Option For Baby Boomers
The Peace Corps has found that older workers, with their varied skills, are so well-suited overseas that it has begun recruiting people in their 50s, 60s and even 70s. “We’ve been doing a lot of recruiting for older workers,” said Nancy Curren, director for the five-state region including Colorado. “A lot of people were inspired in the 1960s by JFK but stayed with their careers. Now, some of them are finding they might have the time to do it.” There’s no age limit, she says, adding that the oldest recent volunteer was in his 80s.
