| The baby boomer generation will change the health care industry dramatically and the change will be lasting. Anyone over the age of 65 now has a marked chance of entering a nursing home or long term care facility. Some health care professionals predict that more than 9 million people over the age of 65 will need long-term care this year. And, by the year 2020, the number will increase to more than 12 million individuals. The changing demands of baby boomers along with new health-care technology will dictate new forms of care delivery. Many boomers will chose to remain in their primary homestead until degrading health demands a move to a community with 24 hour assistance.
