Freelance Marketing Copywriter Needed

Are you a copywriter that knows the difference between Cavalli and Coldwater Creek, between a Dutch oven and a sauté pan, and between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi?

Are you witty, hardworking, humble, funny, outgoing, and low-maintenance – and do you write with bit of edge?

SHOP.COM, an online marketplace with OneCart™ convenience, is looking for a remote yet local freelance writer to assist the senior copywriter with assorted duties that range from copy for email campaigns, direct marketing pieces, newsletters, web site copy, and helping with maintenance of our shopping blog.

The potential writer should have 1-3 years marketing writing experience, impeccable writing and editing skills, work extremely well within a team (we’re really tight-knit and work well together!) and should have a solid understanding of the interests of our typical shopper: a busy female aged 25-45 who loves shopping for herself, her friends, and her family.

Personality is just as important as talent, as we may be seeking to hire someone full time in 2008.

Although the position is mostly remote, and will start out on an occasional, CONTRACT basis, the applicant must be available occasionally for meetings, so living near the Pasadena, CA area is ideal.

If interested, please peruse the site (www.shop.com) before replying and send a résumé and three writing samples (marketing/retail nature preferred) to:

DO NOT call or contact us through any other method than the above email address.
