A Retirement Checklist
I’m sending kudos to ZenHabits for the article entitled “7 Things You Can Do Today to Prepare for Retirement”
Definitely worth a read
This is aimed at people like myself who never really gave retirement a thought. It’s aimed at people in their 20s who really should start now and can do so with some simple steps. It’s aimed at people in their 30s and 40s who need to start now (although it’s not too late).
You can do these things today, without too much effort. Read up on them, make a call, get started!
1. Max Out Your 401(k). Probably the easiest and best thing you can do to get your retirement plan going. It’s easy, especially if you are an employee, as you are probably already enrolled in a 401(k). All you have to do is fill out a form to increase it to the maximum contribution.
2. Start now. Even if you’re really late in getting started (as I was), it’s important to start right away. Even if it’s just a little at a time.
