Baby boomers re-entering the workforce don’t have to look like runway models. Rather, depending on the place and kind of employment, boomers do need to dress appropriately. Here are a few tips:
- Dress codes have changed a lot. Take a trip to the mall, frequent those stores that sell to the thirty and forty-something executives.
- Visit the dentist, forty years of coffee and tea make teeth less than brilliantly white.
- A hairdresser or barber can do wonders, giving you a fresh and “with it” hair style.
- Dress appropriately for the job interview. Khakis and a dress shirt with tie are most times all that is required.
- Subtly display your cellphone or PDA. Employers will see that you are comfortable with technology.
